Coleraine Yacht Club was once again pleased to invite the SALT Summer Scheme back to the Clubhouse for a fun packed day. the event included sailing, power boating, face painting, games and a lunch time BBQ of burgers, hot dogs and chips prepared by our chef, and house Convenor Davy Hunt.
Along with trips on the Club ribs, the children were treated to a Bann cruise on the motor cruiser Gundel. Those who prefered the leisurely side of boating crewed in a Drascan with Skippers Hunt and McCurley Face painters, Lauraine and Liz created various works of art on the faces of the children and staff. The group was the first to road test the new Council Marina facilities with its new wheelchair friendly access. In previous years accessing the water proved to be a major difficulty for the group. This year the marina was given a unanimous thumbs up.
Again I would like to thank our usual Club backstage helpers for giving up their time to make the day both enjoyable and memorable for the children. Without their help, the Club would be unable to host such events. Stevie, Lauraine, Andrew, Pearcy, Densil, Davy Andy, Liz, Ken and Ina.
