Despite a fast flow in the river & generally light winds, there still has been a regular turn out for Sunday afternoon dinghy sailing. Thanks to our shore committee, dinghy sailing continues throughout the year and CYC is the only club offering dinghy racing 52 weeks a year - wind permitting! We have a mixed fleet including Toppers, Lasers, GP14s and Scorpions - sailing under PY handicap. Along with Toppers, the club also owns several Optimist dinghies and these are available for young sailors to use. Dinghy sailing is an excellent way of keeping fit & it also sharpens the reactions. If you have a dinghy, phone up a friend to crew for you & come down on Sunday afternoon for a sail. It will really blow the cobwebs away and make you feel good. |
